Traditionis Custodes and the Greek-Catholics. Zhyve. TV English | Open Church Talk
Last year, Pope Francis published an apostolic letter called «Traditionis custodes» which restricted the use of the Traditional Latin Mass among people who belong to the Roman Catholic Church.
Something like that wouldn’t usually concern the Eastern Catholic Churches, but an increasing number of people in the Catholic blogosphere have encouraged Latin Mass adherents to look toward the East to find customs reminiscent of the old Latin Mass (known technically as the «Extraordinary Form»).
On this edition of Open Church Talk, Dr. Brian Butcher, adjunct professor at McGill University’s School of Religious Studies, joins Zhyve TV’s Julian Hayda to discuss the implications of Traditionis Custodes among Eastern Catholics.
